my friend derrick you are completely right radiohead is very much influenced by pink floyd and the beatles im not atacking...but by the sound of the recent albums it has been a dissapointment for me... (forgive my english im mexican)

I love all thhree bands but I have to disagree with you here. Nirvana was extremely experimental, not only in their music flow and type but even the instruments. They have(in songs I've heard by them, they probably used more)flutes,accordians, flutes, violins, violas, and even a harp. Then they had the great original Nirvana sound too. Their sound and variety helped make them one of the best bands ever.

No doubt that Nirvana is one of the better bands of all-time, but there's no way that one can state that they were even REMOTELY close to being an artsy, experimental band. MANY bands have used flutes, accordians and harps, &c. - but that doesn't mean that they are an "experimental" band.
Like Pink Floyd, they basically PAVED THE WAY for bands today, including Radiohead AND Nirvana. Pink Floyd was/is the epitome of experimentation/influence. 99% of music critics today will even tell you that.

To compare Nirvana to Floyd is woah!!!!
but i think other influences on Nirvana , would be more along the line of the Who, Morrison, Syd Vicious Sex pistols, Ramones, Clash, Manic Street, up to Sonic Youth. I mean Floyd is just on another level.
But definitly i think Radiohead is a direct descendant of Pink, if you will.
Either way Nirvana, Radiohead, and Floyd, were alike in the fact they were/are amazing bands, with amazingly creative musicians, and i am greatful to listen to them.

i just heard the song "reckoner" (radiohead)from the "in rainbows" and i loved it, i got nothing against them is just that there are so many incredible bands out there like "mindsky" "camel" "starcastle" or "transatlantic" that is hard for me to think of this guys as the paradigm of modern music, really i recommend to my friends to listen to internet radio, theres a site "deliciousagony" istrongly recommend this site you will beamazed by the quantity/quality bands you will find there that.peace
