You apparently have not seen enough Monty Python sketches. This one works just fine.
Those damn commercials for the Flying Circus DVD's turned people on to a few choice sketches (silly walks, Spanish inquisition, etc) and when they see something that isn't one of those choice sketches, they say it doesn't work. Shame on you.

It's a personal thing. I don't happen to find this as funny as some other sketches. I don't see why this causes you to say 'Shame on you' as if I've done something bad...
