Yeah, I always considered the Time Devourer (the fight before this) to be the final boss, and this just the way to unlock the true ending.

He wasnt dreaming, the story is real. Actually after the final fight they tells you everything is going back to normal, which mean that he will be sent back to the past, where everything begun, but Serge still knows what really happened, others dont. (Those who you fought with should remember also I guess.)

AAANYWAY, this is my first time beating this game and I think IT'S GREAT!!! It's not Chrono Trigger but THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE. Think about it, guys - if it was just a direct sequel of chrono trigger that would be boring and might have screwed the story up. They did something original while keeping ties with Trigger.
And Kid is one of the best characters in any RPG IMO... i wish you could use her more often, it's not fair that she's gone for such a long time in between.

Agree, except about Kid, I thought pretty much all of the characters on this sucked. Nothing could compare to Chrono, or Frog, or Robo.

Yeah, Lavos pwned his ass. Chrono Trigger, to me, kicked this games ass, fuck the 3D bullshit, give us old style SNES graphics, I don't care. That was what made it great. The unique timelines, the Epoch, the characters, all from different times, and just the overall storyline was great. And the battle system was great. That was why I loved it, it got fighting games, with final fantasy combat, It was real time. And the bosses health didn't show, and Lavos was actually a challenge.

No one cares if you think Chrono Cross sucks or you think 3D is bullshit. Nor do I. I loved Chrono Cross. I personally thought the storyline was great, which is what counts in my books.
