Yeah garbage, ... ( 4 weeks ago by jakehadlee)
Yeah garbage, that's why so many guitarists, including SRV and Clapton, tried so very hard to emulate it. Clapton himself admits he totally ripped off King on the Disraeli Gears album (the solo to Strange Brew is almost note for note the same as AK's Pretty Woman).
King has one of the most influential guitar sounds of any blues player and if you can't hear why I'd give up on the blues if I was you.

Albert king wrote good songs and can sing blues but the fact he used a flying V upside down shows he knows nothing about tone. You cal 3 muffeld notes blues. I respect him but you can't say he is as good or better than other blues artists tone wise and playing wise. Good blues tone is a strat with a twin reverb on 10.

I guess tone is personal - there's plenty of people who love Albert Collins' tone, but I always found it too harsh for my tastes. But there's a difference between not liking a tone and saying its garbage - as I mentioned, Clapton was desperate to reproduce King's style and tone in his early days, and there's plenty of AK in SRV's playing too. Agree with you on the V though - hate them myself.
Speak about Eric ... ( 4 weeks ago by grga888)
Speak about Eric Clapton and Albert King how many you want, but none of them could touch Stevie, and I mean it! None of them. Eric himself said it that Stevie would blow him of the stage and that Stevie was the purest musical channel he ever saw and Albert said that Stevie totally mastered the guitar like nobody else and really was beyond his favourite guitar player.
BTW. Stevie has some of the very best and influential guitar sounds ever!
