Forgive me, it was ... ( 2 weeks ago by MrEd92)
Forgive me, it was late and I meant mutations. Anyhow, brother-sister relation was forbidden STARTING at the point in Lev.; likely for the health reasons. Since Adam and Eve were made "very good," there were no copying mistakes (or mutations,)therefore there was less build up in their children as well. This makes sense when looking at their life-spans.
I'm not sure what ... ( 2 weeks ago by MrEd92)
I'm not sure what you're trying to show me here. God respected Abel and his offering, but this doesn't contradict God being impartial. A better arguement would be (I'm paraphrasing from Malaki) "Jacob I loved but Esau I hated." It seems that God is playing favorites, but Jacob wanted the blessing more than anything; God loves that attitude. Esau didn't care about God and sold away his inheritance. A don't know/don't care attitude is definitely not favorable to God.
After looking at my ... ( 2 weeks ago by MrEd92)
After looking at my post, I want to expand a little bit as to what "impartial" probably means in this text, which I didn't clarify very well. Impartial means that, to God, we are all in the same boat in that we need to come to Him in order to be saved. I suspect different words being used for "impartial" just depend on the translation, but I've found most notable trans. use "impartial." Even so, the English translations should be compared to the Hebrew transcripts to be sure.

ok, so if you get rid of the "ad-hominem" attack you still have a logical argument, why don't you refute it? One could equally plug in immoral or hypocrite and it would still be an argument. Try and examine logical fallacies before saying someone else is just applying an ad-hominem attack.

Funny thing, it isn't even an ad hominem. He doesn't use "you're stupid" to argument anything (as a premise), but uses it as a conclusion.

lol ya, I'm pretty sure I said "even if it was" there is still a logical argument that he refused to acknowledge was still there

Ok I can continue ... ( 1 week ago by ExSaint1379)
Ok I can continue on with God saying that he respects people and that he doesn't respect people. In Genesis 4:4 "And the Lord have Respect unto Able". And in Exodus 2:25 "And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them". In countless other parts he says he doesnt respect people. Just to name a few Romans 2:11, Galatians 2:6, Ephesians 6:9, Colossians 3:25, Peter 1:17

Is it wrong to steal?
Exodus 20:15, Matthew 19:18
Thou shalt not steal.
Exodus 3:22
But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour ... and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
Exodus 12:35-36
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians ... and they spoiled the Egyptians.

Wow... can you say dumb ass? You rant on about how he's stupid then make derogatory statements
without backing any of your claims up with anything.
Another supposed ... ( 1 week ago by MrEd92)
Another supposed contradiction ignoring context. God is judging Egypt in this verse, as would be apparent if you look at one of the various cross-references, Genesis 15:14. "But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions." I suppose it can be considered "payment" and evening the account, so to speak. Let's just end this here; this isn't going anywhere fast.
You mean the ... ( 1 week ago by ExSaint1379)
You mean the stealing thing? I don't think that's out of context. God orders them to steal, yet he says in many other places not just the commandmants not to. Just because he is judging them doesn't make it right on israel's part.
Let me expand on ... ( 1 week ago by MrEd92)
Let me expand on this. This says it well; "When African-Americans demand recompensation for their history of slavery, are they demanding to rob white people? Thus, these are not obvious examples of God commanding robbery." As I said before, this is not robbery but actually God enforcing payment.
Well if you say ... ( 1 week ago by ExSaint1379)
Well if you say robbery. It gets a little worse in Ezekiel
39:10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
There's the specific word rob. He never said that stealing is ok if someone wronged you as you can steal as payment. He said Thou Shalt Not Steal.
You realize that ... ( 1 week ago by MrEd92)
You realize that God is speaking prophecy, not commands, in Ezekiel, right? As for your last statement, I'm not sure what you're referring to. In Exodus the Hebrews asked for the gold and such and the Egyptians willingly gave it to them. There was no violence, no intimidation. It wasn't "stealing." I'm done. You've wasted enough of both of our time here. If you really want answers though, search "answers to bible contradictions" on Google.
Wait a sec. I know ... ( 1 week ago by ExSaint1379)
Wait a sec. I know it's prophecy but he's saying what he's going to give them. Part of it is robbing those that rob them. That's obviously justifying stealing.
And on top of that
Nahum 2:9 "Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture." There he is oking it for them to steal.

I don't think this is quite the message athiests need to be sending.
