Almost all the footage is taken from council CCTV video cameras, which they've edited together, very clever :)
This was on Channel 5 news at some point, outstanding video :D

Brilliant video, just when I thought creative music videos were dead. It's clever, artistic, and makes a subtle but powerful statement about the surveillance state all at the same time. Also, it's a great way to market an unknown band. Kudos to TGOC.

I'm surprised there was a "Freedom of Information" act in the UK to get CCTV footage.
Maybe the next step is to just plain make the feeds available to the public, ala websites, etc... that would remove the whole "Big Brother" aspect and give it more of a "Anyone can watch, not just the 'watchers' "...
Just a thought.

@thedarkener: they wouldn't have used the Freedom of Information Act, the FoI Act says that we may have access to Government data and files, except in cases of national security. The Data Protection Act would have been used here; the DPA says that if any company/organisation has data held about us (including video footage) then we have a right to obtain a copy of that data.
And your idea about making publicly available feeds would be unworkable - the UK has over four million CCTV cameras. Boo.

Yep, I'm with crgn on this one, it's just clever PR. Doesn't take a genius to see that half the video is handheld footage made to look like CCTV, and the genuine CCTV has had the band edited into it afterwards. Check out the bit where they're standing on the zebra crossing - totally fake :-) Nice idea tho!
