Really?
Then "WHY" did the NBA ADMITTEDLY change all these damn rules to ACCOMODATE these guys in in their LACK OF ability to score like their predecessors then?
Duh!!
Whenever U "LOWER" the bar of basketball excellence like that, the league in essence, made them ALL "Less Great" than they possibly could've been.
The fundamental aspect of the game is SCARCE & that's putting it MILDLY.
Look at the #'s of these guys "AFTER" they eliminated Handchecking & put in a 3-sec rule in '05!
4 players today have 60+ pt games SINCE the changes..ALL perimeter players (A.I., G. Arenas, Kobe & T-mac).
B4 '05, the ONLY active player with a 60 pt game was Shaq! So you'd have me believe, this is so because today's guys are more skilled?
kobe during the handchecking yrs
561 games - 21.17 ppg on 42% shooting
kobe AFTER the Anti Handcheck & 3-Sec Rule
280+ games - 31.75 ppg on 46% shooting
U got A LOT TO LEARN kid..
The changes to the rules is what's allowed these guys U speak of to even be MENTIONED in the same breath as those that DEFINED what SKILL is..
49 players are responsible for the MAJORITY of the Top 10 ALL TIME PLAYOFF Honors in EVERY individual category & 137 Players are responsible for the MAJORITY of the Top 30 ALL TIME REG SEASON Honors in EVERY individual category. ALL FROM THAT ERA!
Only 9 players from THIS ERA even BEGIN to place (Shaq, Peja, Nash, Billups, Duncan, Horry, T-Mac, Mutombo & AI)
U say TODAY'S guys are "as skilled, if not more". Where R they?
You had 22 during the mid 80's & 90's & ALL of those guys shot AT LEAST 48% from the field, whereas the so called "Best" perimeter player today (kobe), has NEVER shot better than 46% in his ENTIRE career & has shot WORSE than his own team, 11 coming up on 13seasons he's been a pro!
227 games - 23.59ppg on 43% shooting
Kobe was a STARTER during those years so no my man, they're not "tainted" & is indicative of JUST HOW beneficial the changing of the rules have been not only for him, but of ALL of the wing players because his production isn't the only one that DRAMATICALLY increased after those changes were made..
This is NOT a coincidence..
Well, kobe from 2002-04 averaged MORE attempts (20.7 FG attempts vs 16.85 FG attempts) than shaq, so lets kill that argument now.
He shot more times than Shaq & STILL couldn't outscore him. He ALSO avg'd MORE shots & minutes than shaq in ALL of their Finals appearances as well..
and y am I even argueing with u, if u dont like the nba dont watch it...
I mean, you GOTTA have something else to do with your life
oh, is that something else talking shit on youtube?
oh okay, I see now...
