Our baby Kyle having a wonderful time at the sink for some strange reason. He was about 16 months old. For some reason the sound doesn't match up perfectly but believe me those are genuine laughs.

So they do, and all the better for the baby. People are too scared of bacteria these days - trying to over-protect a child against bacteria is doing them a disservice: our immune systems aren't equipped to handle a sterile environment, if they don't get something real to fight against, we develop allergies. And if the child's immune system doesn't get a little training with the relatively benign bacteria in the home environment, they are going to be all that more vulnerable to the real threats.

He's not going to get sick from that.... babies put MUCH worse in their mouths. There is less germs in the sink than there is on the counter where his hand is and that hand will be in his mouth sometime. The body has this thing called the immune system... when exposed to germs, the immune system fights them off, builds anti-bodies, and later in life, the kid will be more resistant to diseases from this magical process. He's happy... he's cute, and the mother is not doing anything wrong.

Well, Red Jasper, there are germs that cannot be REPELLED by the immune system, some of which can be found in food poisoning - that's why some people get SICK, not die, from food poisoning, and chemical poisoning, so technically, the immune system does not repel all things that are harmful. However, this baby probably won't get sick, as there is such a little chance that the sink's chemicals contain harmful ones. The baby is very cute, THAT much can be certain!

my baby ate poop before and didn't get sick....and dog poop... and they also eat micD and other fastfoods thats probably worse than whats in the sink
